San Luis Obispo Coastal Association of REALTORS® is a real estate trade organization whose membership is voluntary and whose objectives are 1) to unite those engaged in the real estate profession with San Luis Obispo Coastal Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, and 2) to serve all Members by providing products and services which assist Members by helping them, both ethically and professionally succeed in their business. All attendees of meetings comply with any/all Anti-Trust laws established by the Federal, State, County, City governments or other entities who exercise control and legal authority over this entity. It is each individual Member’s responsibility to ensure that the Association is neither engaging in behavior that is or could be interpreted as violating Anti-Trust Laws, rather, to ensure that participants have a forum to freely express diverse opinions without in any means attempting to influence the free market.
Federal and state antitrust laws are designed to protect competition, and the opportunity of competitors to engage in business free of artificial restrictions on competition. Such restrictions include price fixing agreements, group boycotts, “tying” arrangements, and market allocation arrangements. Antitrust laws also make it illegal to operate a monopoly and abuse the power of one who has a monopolistic market position. Antitrust laws are enforced by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and similar state agencies and state Attorneys General.
